Jack Lake — Sunny, 64°F

Wake up, Wisconsin—today is absolutely gorgeous on Jack Lake! We’re looking at a high of 64°F under sunny skies, climbing up from a crisp 41°F early morning start. Winds begin at a gentle 3 mph from the east at 7am, keeping the water glassy and inviting for early risers.

Paddling Window: 7AM-7PM

This is a textbook progression day for paddlers. Temperatures start at 41°F at 7am with 100% humidity and that fog-on-the-lake mystique, then steadily climb through the morning. By 10am you’re at 55°F, and by 2pm we hit our peak at 63°F before topping out at 64°F around 4pm. Wind builds gradually from 3 mph at dawn to 8 mph by mid-morning, holding steady through the afternoon before easing to 5 mph by 7pm. The sweet spot? Aim for 10am to 4pm when temperatures hover in the upper 50s to low 60s with manageable 8-9 mph winds. If you want mirror-flat water, arrive at 7am when winds are just 3 mph—but bundle up because it’s genuinely cold.

Through the Day

Early birds (7am-9am) will experience that classic autumn morning chill—41°F to 50°F with calm 3-6 mph winds and dewy, humid air. Midday paddlers (11am-3pm) get the prime conditions: 58-63°F, abundant sunshine, and winds holding at 8 mph from the east-southeast. Late afternoon through evening (5pm-7pm) brings a gentle cooldown from 62°F to 58°F, with winds dropping to 7 mph at 6pm and 5 mph by 7pm. The sky stays clear throughout, making sunset paddles on Jack Lake absolutely spectacular.
